Because our area is home to astonishing array of fish species, fishing on a boat is one of the most exciting things to do here on the Forgotten Coast.
Hotspots for Boat Fishing
If you’re looking for a bay fishing adventure, cruise into the Apalachicola Bay, St. Vincent Sound, St. George Sound, East Bay, Ochlockonee Bay or Apalachee Bay to hook into redfish, speckled trout, flounder, grouper, tripletail, black drum, pompano, Spanish mackerel and more.
If you’re looking to land some offshore monsters, motor out into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of St. George Island, Alligator Point or Carrabelle. This area is teeming with grouper, mackerel, snapper, hogfish, tripletail, amberjack, cobia, mahi mahi, blackfin tuna, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, wahoo and more!
Ready to try your hand at freshwater boat fishing? Launch your boat into the lower Apalachicola River, Carrabelle River or Ochlockonee River, where you’ll have a chance to hook into giant bass, bream, stripers and catfish. Thanks to the unique topography of these rivers, these fish species grow to impressive sizes in this area.
