Historic Holy Family Center

A cornerstone of Apalachicola’s historic Hillside community, the Historic Holy Family Center has served generations of local residents since the 1920s. The Mission-style building was constructed as a Catholic school for African American children and became an important center for education and community life.

Beautifully restored, the center continues that legacy today as a gathering place for senior programs, cultural activities, weddings and special events. Original character, wooden floors, a stage and exhibits highlighting local Black history connect the building’s present-day role with its significant past.
