Friday is National Oyster Day!

Friday, August 5 is National Oyster Day. Not sure where it came from – appears to be an unofficial food holiday – Who cares? We’ll take any excuse to celebrate oysters! National Oyster Day is celebrated annually in the United States on August 5. Most people consider oysters from Apalachicola Bay a delicacy. We certainly do! Apalachicola Bay Oysters can be prepared in a variety of ways, including raw on the half shell, steamed, fried, stewed and smoked. Oysters can be served as an appetizer or as a main entree. What’s your favorite?
