The 2019 Florida Seafood Festival will be held November 1-2 in Apalachicola’s historic Battery Park . This 56-year old event is Florida oldest maritime event that annually draws thousands of visitors to the historic port town of Apalachicola and features delicious seafood, arts and crafts exhibits and the famous Oyster Eating and Shucking contest. Other fun events include the Blue Crab Races, Photo Contest, Parade, 5k Redfish Run, The Blessing of the Fleet, History of the Festival Exhibit and Tonging For Treasure.
This year’s festival music headliner will be Parmalee, the quintessential American Country band from North Carolina. The band made their 2013 breakout single, “Carolina,” into a Platinum-certified #1 hit, while their debut album landed in the Top 10. Two more singles (“Close Your Eyes” and “Already Callin’ You Mine”) rose to #3 and #10 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
