World’s Smallest Police Station

There is a phone booth in Carrabelle at the corner of Highway 98 and Tallahassee street that has propelled this small Gulf Coast town to national fame ovewr the years because, at one time, it was the “World’s Smallest Police Station.” Built in 1963, the small call box bolted to a building served as the police phone box for this small rural town. Over time, the box became a phone booth that served as the small town’s official police station for a time. The tiny office earned a fair amount of fame for its oddity, appearing on several television shows including “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” Long abandoned as a functioning police station, a replica of the phone booth still stands on the corner but the original phone booth is just down the street in the Carrabelle History Museum. We invite you to stop by and take your picture in front of the original World’s Smallest Police Station!
