Through Richard Bickel’s lens, the people and working waterfront of Apalachicola become part of a much larger story. Since arriving in the area in the 1990s, the award-winning photojournalist has documented oystermen, fishing communities, waterways and everyday life along the bay, while his assignments have taken him across 70 countries. His downtown Apalachicola gallery brings both worlds together through fine-art prints, documentary photography and published books celebrating the places and people he has encountered.
