Carrabelle History Museum

Housed in Carrabelle’s historic 1938 former City Hall, the Carrabelle History Museum preserves and shares the people, industries and events that shaped this coastal community. Explore exhibits featuring Native American artifacts, local fossils, maritime history, commercial fishing, lumber and turpentine industries, the Steamship Tarpon, Dog Island shipwrecks, Tate’s Hell and notable people from Carrabelle’s past. Built largely from photographs, memorabilia, stories and artifacts contributed by local families, the museum offers an authentic look at Carrabelle and Franklin County history.

The museum hosts regular events and talks about the culture, lifestyle and history of the Carrabelle area. Hours vary by season.
