The Franklin County Tourist Development Council (TDC) is proud to announce it has been awarded two VISIT FLORIDA Flagler Awards. They won the silver award for the Florida’s Forgotten Coast “The Florida You Remember” mixed media campaign. The winning campaign, which consisted of digital, print and video marketing components, was selected from entries from destination marketing organizations across the state Florida. The Franklin County TDC also won bronze in the rural marketing category for its “How to Forgotten Coast Like a Local” web series.

“Our home, Franklin County, is a special place. Our TDC team works together to produce our content. The recognition of a job done well is an honor,” said Ricky Jones Chairman of the Franklin County Commission and TDC.

VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s marketing entity, presented awards during the annual Governor’s Conference in Boca Raton on August 31, 2022. Franklin County Tourist Development Council (TDC) director John Solomon and TDC vendor Tana Kendrick, 2K Web Group, were on hand to receive the awards. The 2022 conference was also Solomon’s first meeting since being appointed to serve on the prestigious VISIT FLORIDA Board of Directors.

This makes the sixth VISIT FLORIDA Flagler award that the Franklin County TDC has won in the last three years.

“I am so very honored for the Franklin County TDC team which includes the Franklin County Commission, TDC Board of Directors, the TDC Vendors, our partners and everyone that works in the hospitality industry in Franklin County”, said John Solomon, TDC director. “Our advertising efforts being recognized as some of the best marketing in the state of Florida is a tremendous accomplishment.”

The Flagler Awards is an annual statewide competition recognizing outstanding Florida tourism marketing. The program was created by VISIT FLORIDA to honor the countless individuals and organizations that help position Florida as the No. 1 travel destination in the world. Each year the Flagler Awards pay tribute to the determined efforts of those who use their skill, resourcefulness, creativity and innovative spirit to market Florida to the world.
