Redfish caught on Florida's Forgotten Coast

If want to plan a truly unforgettable fishing trip, Florida’s Forgotten Coast is the place to be! Renowned for both fresh and saltwater fishing opportunities, Franklin County is a dream come true for anglers of all types and skill levels. You’ll discover an array of fabulous fishing adventures throughout our area, from ApalachicolaSt. George Island and Carrabelle to Eastpoint and Alligator Point.

Thanks to the unique topography of our river and bay systems, combined with the county’s prime location on the Gulf coast, our area is home to diverse, highly productive marine habitats. Take your pick from a wide variety of fishing hotspots, including the Apalachicola River basin, the estuary system, wetlands, four barrier islands, oyster bars, sand flats and seagrass flats.

Catch of the Day

The type of fish you’ll catch on the Forgotten Coast depends on the time of year, the tides and the area you’re fishing. But one thing is certain: You’re pretty much guaranteed to catch something impressive during your trip to Franklin County.

Interested in some inshore fishing? Head out in the bay to hook into redfish, speckled trout, flounder, tripletail, black drum, pompano and Spanish mackerel.

If you prefer to take a deep sea fishing charter, you’ll have an opportunity to land the BIG one—or maybe even a whole cooler full of them! The prolific Gulf waters around the Forgotten Coast are teeming with grouper, mackerel, snapper, tripletail, amberjack, cobia, mahi mahi, blackfin tuna, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, wahoo and more!

Looking to hook into a monster? One of our area’s experienced fishing captains can help you score an epic catch with a massive marlin or sailfish.
