SUMMARY:Fishing Rubbing Art-Making Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Carrabelle Artist Association is hosting their annual Fish Rubbing event on Saturday\, February 4\, 2023\, at the St. James Bay Golf Resort in the Fountain Room. The 2023 Fish Rubbing event provides a fun\, hands-on session where participants will make their own piece of unique\, nautical art to take home. This event will feature an Asian theme and will also include food and music. \nGyotaku (pronounced Gee-oh-tak-oo) or the art of fish rubbing is a traditional form of Japanese art. Fish rubbing is a form of printing on rice paper using local fish. Materials and in-person instruction are provided for guests to make a frame-able piece of fish rubbing art to take home. Anyone who would like to make an additional fish rubbing may bring a t-shirt\, apron\, tea towel\, or other cloth item to make a second fish rubbing. The fish rubbing will be done with acrylic paint. \nThere will be two sessions available – 10 am-12pm and 1-3 pm – with tickets presold for each session. Cost is $15 in advance or $18 at the door. DESCRIPTION:The tournament starts at 10 am. Check-in and shirt pickup begin at 9:30 am. \nFormat: Women’s doubles and mixed doubles compete together. Beginner/Adv Beg (2.0-2.5) start at 10am. Intermediate/Advanced (3.0+) follow 30 minutes after completion of first level – approx 12 noon. Franklin X balls provided. 8 teams at each level\, double-elimination format. Cost: $40/person\, $80/team. No refunds. \n**Registration**: Both team members must be paid for before the spot is secure. DESCRIPTION:Tate’s Hell 5K & Bay Fest will be a full day of outdoor adventure on Saturday\, October 1\, 2022. The event will take place at St James Bay Golf Resort\, just east of Carrabelle\, FL\, and includes fun for the entire family. Activities include a 5K run and walk\, bike safety rodeo\, pickleball tournament\, live music\, food specials\, an auction\, and more. \nAt 8 am\, the day kicks off with the 7th annual Tate’s Hell 5K Run & Walk. This scenic course winds through the wooded forest and meanders through wetlands (via a boardwalk) along the cart path and streets around the beautiful Audubon Sanctuary golf course. St James Bay property backs directly to Tate’s Hell on the Crooked River keeping true to the Tate’s Hell theme. All ages are welcome to join this family-friendly run and walk. A race shirt is included with all registrations received before September 1st. Registrations are welcome up until Race Day\, but a shirt cannot be guaranteed after the Sept 1st deadline. \nThis event has much in store this year. Families\, including children 3 years and up\, are encouraged to join in the Bike Safety Rodeo from 10 am-12 pm. Everyone who completes this bike safety course will receive an AAA bike safety certification. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets for a safety check and fitting. A limited number of loaner bikes and helmets will also be available. This event is free to children and adults. The first 50 children riders will receive a free helmet and shirt and several bikes will be raffled off! Non-golfers can also help by volunteering at the tournament as greeters\, beverage cart drivers\, photographers\, judging the putting contest or closest to the pin events\, or just be there to support the golfers and the tournament. DESCRIPTION:September 25\, 2020 at St. James Bay Golf Club with Tee-off at 9:00 AM. The 11th Rock by the Tee will be held. The Virus hasn’t stopped golfers.  SO\, Tee it up! There will be one person per cart and hand sanitizer in each cart. The course would only like to handle 40 players because of the golf cart situation.  SO tell your friends to get registered. After golf there will be lunch at Half Shell Dockside in Apalachicola.  Expansive outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. September 26\, 2020 at Harry A’s on St. George Island.  There will only be 50 passes sold.  The Live Music will be streamed for a fee to be determined.
