The market\, at the foot of the lighthouse\, features vendors from the community with perfect holiday gifts like gorgeous art and photography\, ornaments\, handcrafted soaps\, craft items\, handmade goods\, fresh roasted coffee\, delicious baked goods\, exotic starter plants\, plus unique maritime items inside. \nThis week we will again have delicious food guests can eat while browsing the vendors. Mao’s BBQ will be selling their delicious Mojo chicken or pork\, yellow rice\, and cabbage. At 1:00 pm\, local herbalist\, Denise Williams will take visitors for a guided medicinal plant walk. Denise will lead guests for this 30-minute walk around the grounds of lighthouse and explore its natural resources. The walk costs $5 and accepts a max of 10 people. \nGuests can also visit the free Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical and holiday gifts. DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Blue Moon Halloween celebration on Saturday\, October 31st\, from 7-10 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. This fun\, family-friendly Halloween event will be held at Crooked River Lighthouse Park. There will be lots of candy on the Keeper’s House porch and a sampling of lanterns from Lantern Fest will be on display. Children and families are encouraged to drop by in their most adorable\, creative or spooky costumes. Dave’s Dawg House will be on site selling hot dogs\, sausage dogs\, boiled peanuts and other snacks. Visitors can enjoy the fire pit (weather permitting). The museum and gift shop will also be open and will feature special Halloween jewelry for guests’ enjoyment. \nWhenever there are two full moons in one month\, the second one is called a Blue Moon. A Halloween full moon hasn’t appeared in the Eastern Time zone since 1944\, according to Farmers’ Almanac. \nFor those visitors who like a bit of a challenge\, evening tower climbs will be available. The tallest lighthouse on the Forgotten Coast provides beautiful views of St. George Sound. For this special evening\, climbs for children are free. Adult climbs are $5. (Children must be supervised by an adult. All climbers must be 44 inches or taller. Climbs are available weather permitting.) \nSocial distancing guidelines will apply. Masks are encouraged for those attending. Guests are encouraged to use hand sanitizer and wash hands frequently. Due to popular demand\, again at this Market will be a fabulous food truck – actually two – Amazing Grubz and Kent’s Smokin’ Sausages! While guests are browsing the vendors\, they can munch on yummy seafood\, wings\, sausage dogs plus cool off with an ice cold shaved ice or a refreshing strawberry lemonade! The Market will also feature local vendors from the community with handmade goods\, fresh roasted coffee\, delicious baked goods\, veggies\, handcrafted soaps\, exotic starter plants\, gorgeous art and photography\, craft items\, plus unique maritime items inside. Guests can browse inside the free Museum and visit the Lighthouse Gift Shop. In addition\, shoppers and visitors have the unique opportunity to climb to the top of the lighthouse for a breathtaking view of the Bay. The Country Farmer’s Market is held every first and third Saturday from 9 am-1 pm at the Crooked River Lighthouse. \nAt 1:00 pm\, join us for a 30 minute plant walk for $5 with Denise Williams local herbalist. Denise will guide guests for this walk around the grounds of lighthouse and point out medicinal plants. Max: 10 people. \nThe Market is open to new and returning vendors. DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse is bringing back their popular Full Moon Lighthouse Climb events starting Sunday\, August 2nd\, from 7-10 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound\, Carrabelle Beach\, and Dog Island\, under the night sky at this special Crooked River Lighthouse evening climb. \nThe Full Moon for August is known as the Sturgeon Moon. Other names for this Full Moon include ”Full Green Corn Moon\,” signaling that the corn was nearly ready for harvest\, “Wheat Cut Moon\,” “Moon When All Things Ripen\,” and ”Blueberry Moon.” (Credit: Farmer’s Almanac). \nAt this month’s event\, visitors will also be able to enjoy the glow of the sunset as well of the moonrise. Visitors can climb to the top of the tallest lighthouse on the Forgotten Coast\, Crooked River Lighthouse\, to see breathtaking views of the bay under the glow of the beautiful setting sun and the rising full moon. Cost is just $8. The museum and gift shop will also be open for guests’ enjoyment. All climbers must be 44 inches tall. Please note\, there will be no live music at this month’s event.

These Uke Jammers have been meeting up for over 10 years playing all types of popular music. In addition to ukuleles\, the Jammers include a stand-up bass\, a washboard\, several kazoos and a djembe drummer to add a heartbeat! The Uke Jammers regularly perform for community outreach programs and currently offer a weekly 2-hour jam session for people with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia at YourLife of Tallahassee Memory Care as part of their enrichment experience. Crooked River Lighthouse is excited that the Tallahassee Uke Jammers will be adding their amazing fun energy and community spirit to this month’s Full Moon Climb. \nAt the event\, guests will also enjoy s’mores around the fire pit (weather permitting). Growing up Susan entertained her parents and house guests by singing the latest show tunes. Susan David is a talented musician who plays acoustic guitar\, ukulele\, electric bass\, and harmonica. She is an accomplished singer/songwriter who has performed with a variety of influential musicians throughout the Southeast.  Her CD\, Steppin’ Out\, is an Americana mix of blues\, pop\, folk and jazz. Susan has also recently written a song about who killed Jody Kilgore and is looking to record it and make a music video in the future. She loves living on the Forgotten Coast and enjoys the beautiful waters and the sense of community here. DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse in Carrabelle will be hosting the Carrabelle Farmer’s Market on Saturday\, March 7 from 9 am-1 pm at the foot of the lighthouse at 1975 Hwy 98 W\, Carrabelle\, FL. The market will be featuring vendors from the community with locally made goods\, veggies\, baked goods\, art and more. The Farmer’s Market will be held every first and third Saturday from 9 am-1 pm at the Crooked River Lighthouse. This market event is growing steadily and is encouraging vendors to join. Vendor may sign up at any time. The cost to be a vendor is $10 per market for those who are not Carrabelle Lighthouse Association members and is free those who are association members. Annual membership costs $15 for an individual or $25 for a family.

DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon & Sunset Lighthouse Climb on Sunday\, February 9\, 6-8 pm in Carrabelle\, FL.  Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound\, Carrabelle Beach\, and Dog Island\, under the night sky at this special Crooked River Lighthouse evening climb. \nAt February’s Full Moon event\, the Crooked River Lighthouse will have fun entertainment with karaoke night. Come share your vocal skills and win fun awards!  Guests can also enjoy s’mores around the fire pit (weather permitting). Visitors can climb to the top of the tallest lighthouse on the Forgotten Coast\, Crooked River Lighthouse\, to see breathtaking views of the bay under the glow of the sunset and the rising Full Snow Moon. Cost is just $8. The museum and gift shop will also be open for guests’ enjoyment. All climbers must be 44 inches tall.
