DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon Lighthouse Climb on Sunday\, October 9th from 6:00-8:00 pm in Carrabelle\, Florida. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the rising Hunter’s Moon. Plus\, live music will be provided by the Musical duo\, “Blues Meets Girl”. Blues Meets Girl is a collaboration of British Blues veteran Mr. Downchild and Texas born singer/songwriter Kasimira. Together they weave their influences and experiences creating Down Home\, Smokin’ Sexy Blues. \nGuests can also visit the Keeper’s House Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. Visitors can also enjoy the glowing fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. All climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. Advance reservations are required for those who wish to climb the lighthouse tower during this event by calling the Lighthouse gift shop. \nA limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. Guests who would like a more leisurely climbing experience are welcome to enjoy one of the daytime climbs available every Wednesday through Sunday. DESCRIPTION:The event has been canceled due to expected inclement weather. \nThe Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon Lighthouse Climb and Sacred Drum Ceremony on Saturday\, September 10\, from 8-10 pm in Carrabelle\, Florida.  Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the full Harvest Moon or Corn Moon.  Paul Eagleheart from the Lipan Apache Tribe will be conducting a Native American drum ceremony during the event. Guests can also enjoy the fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. \nIn honor of the Harvest or Corn Moon\, the lighthouse will be hosting an informal drumming circle during this event. Anyone that has a drum is welcome to bring it and join in. The Harvest Moon is the full moon nearest the start of fall or the autumnal equinox. This full moon name is attributed to Native Americans because it marked when corn and other crops were harvested. \nIn addition to the informal drum circle\, Paul Eagleheart from the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas will be joining this event. He will be doing a sacred\, Native American drum ceremony in honor of the full moon. Paul Eagleheart has done many ceremonies for causes including protection of sacred sites. He will begin the ceremony with a prayer song and will be explaining several Native American traditions. \nWhile at the lighthouse\, guests can also visit the free Keeper’s House Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the rising full moon. If the night skies are clear enough\, you might even be able to spot Dog Island!  \nAt this month’s Full Moon event\, the Crooked River Lighthouse will have a gifted musical duo\, “Boats a Rock’n”. “Boats a Rock’n” features singer/ songwriter\, Susan David on acoustic rhythm guitar\, harmonica\, and lead vocals and guitarist\, Terry Koral on lead guitar and vocals. This lively acoustic guitar duo plays a wide range of upbeat\, toe-tapping tunes spanning musical styles from reggae\, folk\, jazz\, rock\, blues as well as a few originals. \nGuests can also visit the free Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. Visitors can also enjoy the glowing fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening.  \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for kids. All climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. Admission for this special Full Moon event is $15 for adults / $8 for children (6-16) and must be purchased in advance. (Climbs are not included in this price at this special full moon event.) \nLive music will be provided by the Rio Jazz Trio playing Blues\, Ballads\, Bebop\, and Bossanova. Guests can also visit the Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. Visitors can also relax next to the warm bonfire at the large fire pit (weather permitting). Wonderful blues duo\, “Blues Meets Girl” will be performing live music during the market. The open-air market\, at the foot of the lighthouse\, features local vendors from the community with perfect gifts and goodies like gorgeous art and photography\, handcrafted balms and soaps\, handmade goods and craft items\, freshly roasted coffee\, delicious baked goods like cinnamon rolls and artisan bread\, fresh herbs from the Lighthouse’s own garden and exotic starter plants. Special for this date\, a vintage flea market has also been added. \n\n\nIn addition to the locally-made\, hand-crafted goods\, shoppers will be able to browse a little of everything from thrift-store worthy scores to high-end antiques. Vendors (new and returning) are welcome to bring their much-loved treasures to the market to find them a new home. The market welcomes an assortment of products such as home décor\, furniture\, vintage jewelry\, music\, antiques\, tools\, ceramics and kitchenware\, books\, art\, toys\, and gently used clothing. Items just need to be clean and in good condition. \n\n\nThe musical duo\, Blues Meets Girl\, is a collaboration of British Blues veteran Mr. Downchild and Texas-born singer/songwriter Kasimira. Together they weave their influences and experiences creating Down Home\, Smokin’ Sexy Blues. \n\n\nGuests can also visit the free Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts. In addition\, shoppers have the unique opportunity to climb to the top of the lighthouse for a breathtaking view of the Bay. \n\n\nThe Market is actively recruiting new and returning vendors. DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting another one of its popular Full Moon Lighthouse Climbs on Friday\, November 19\, from 5-8 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the rising full moon. With cooler weather here\, guests are invited to relax by the large\, glowing fire pit and enjoy some delicious complimentary s’mores (weather permitting). Visitors can also enjoy hot chocolate on the front porch. The museum and gift shop will be open for browsing and shopping. Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for kids. All climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. Due to the popularity of the Full Moon Climbs\, advance reservations are required for those who wish to climb the lighthouse tower during this event. Call 850-697-2732. \nA limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top.  Guests who would like a more leisurely climbing experience are welcome to enjoy one of the daytime climbs available every Wednesday through Sunday.
