SUMMARY:Full Moon Lighthouse Climb at Crooked River Lighthouse
DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon Lighthouse Climb on Friday\, January 6\, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the rising Wolf Moon. If the night skies are clear enough\, guest might be able to spot Dog Island. \nThere will also be fun entertainment with karaoke night. Guests are invited to come share their vocal skills and win fun awards. There will be prizes for best single act\, duo act and group act. In addition\, there will also be an extraordinary one night performance by a very unique Kiss tribute karaoke group solely made up for this special evening and complete with outfits! This is a not-to-be-missed spectacle. \nWhile at Carrabelle’s lighthouse\, guests can enjoy a visit inside the Keeper’s House Museum and browse some unique nautical gifts and souvenirs in the gift shop. Visitors can also enjoy the glowing fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening.  \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Cost is $10 for adults and $3 for kids. All climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. Advance reservations are required for those who wish to climb the lighthouse tower during this event by calling the Lighthouse gift shop.  \nA limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. Guests who would like a more leisurely climbing experience are welcome to enjoy one of the daytime climbs available every Wednesday through Sunday. Masks are welcome but not required.

DESCRIPTION:Lantern Fest will be celebrated on Saturday\, November 19 from 6-10 pm on the park grounds at Crooked River Lighthouse\, 1975 Highway 98 West\, Carrabelle Beach\, FL. This unique\, outdoor festival\, best known for its awesome display of over a hundred colorful\, hanging lanterns\, lights up the night with magic and history at the 1895 maritime landmark. Special activities include amazing music by The Bottom Dollar Boys\, the spectacular “glow-in-the-dark” performance from the Tallahassee Community College Dance Company\, special evening tower climbs\, ancient craft demonstrations\, enchanting glowing lantern display\, museum displays\, gift shop\, and delicious food and desserts. Don’t miss this evening of music\, dance\, night tower climbs\, glowing lanterns and yummy food. Tickets will be on sale soon. \nFeatured on the program will be a remarkably gifted and entertaining musical group\, The Bottom Dollar Boys. This group has been delighting audiences for over 40 years\, with traditional Bluegrass harmonies and mighty fine pickin’. They’ve been toilin’ in the fields of Bluegrass\, Old Country\, Gospel\, Americana with a pinch of Blues. \nIn addition\, the talented Tallahassee Community College Dance Company will dazzle guests on the outdoor stage with their superb choreography\, amazing talent and imaginative use of glow-in-the-dark props and illusions. The TCC Dance Company has been inspiring creative dancers for over 20 years years and the college has an admirable outreach program which enables these students to perform for audiences all over the state. Crooked River Lighthouse is honored that these excellent dancers will be performing at Lantern Fest again this year.

DESCRIPTION:The event has been canceled due to expected inclement weather. \nThe Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon Lighthouse Climb and Sacred Drum Ceremony on Saturday\, September 10\, from 8-10 pm in Carrabelle\, Florida.  Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the full Harvest Moon or Corn Moon.  Paul Eagleheart from the Lipan Apache Tribe will be conducting a Native American drum ceremony during the event. Guests can also enjoy the fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. \nIn honor of the Harvest or Corn Moon\, the lighthouse will be hosting an informal drumming circle during this event. Anyone that has a drum is welcome to bring it and join in. The Harvest Moon is the full moon nearest the start of fall or the autumnal equinox. This full moon name is attributed to Native Americans because it marked when corn and other crops were harvested. \nIn addition to the informal drum circle\, Paul Eagleheart from the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas will be joining this event. He will be doing a sacred\, Native American drum ceremony in honor of the full moon. Paul Eagleheart has done many ceremonies for causes including protection of sacred sites. He will begin the ceremony with a prayer song and will be explaining several Native American traditions. \nWhile at the lighthouse\, guests can also visit the free Keeper’s House Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. All climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. Advance reservations are required for those who wish to climb the lighthouse tower during this event by calling the gift shop. \nA limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. Guests who would like a more leisurely climbing experience are welcome to enjoy one of the daytime climbs available every Wednesday through Sunday. DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a special Full Moon Lighthouse Event on Friday\, March 18\, 2022\, Sunday\, March 20\, 2022\, from 6:00-10:00 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. This special outdoor event will feature a delicious low country boil (served from 6:00-8:00 pm) followed by live music (8:00-10:00 pm). Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the gorgeous evening sky. Admission for this special Full Moon event is $15 for adults / $8 for children (6-16) and must be purchased in advance. (Climbs are not included in this price at this special full moon event.) \nLive music will be provided by the Rio Jazz Trio playing Blues\, Ballads\, Bebop\, and Bossanova. Guests can also visit the Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. Visitors can also relax next to the warm bonfire at the large fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. \nFor this month’s special event\, admission must be purchased in advance. Admission cost is $15 for adults and $8 for children (6-16) and includes the low country boil (served from 6:00-8:00 pm)\, live music (from 8:00-10:00 pm)\, glowing bonfire at the fire pit\, and museum access. The climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Climbers must be 44” tall. Due to the popularity of the Full Moon events\, a climb timeslot reservation is required in advance and can be made by calling 850-697-2732. Climbers will pay the climbing fee (adult $5\, child $3) in the gift shop during the event. \nA limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. If the night skies are clear enough\, you might even be able to spot Dog Island! \nAt this month’s Full Moon event\, the Crooked River Lighthouse will have a gifted musical group\, The Bog Lilies. The Bog Lilies are a talented group of performers who focus on vocal harmonies mixed with a unique blend of instruments including banjo\, mandolin\, acoustic guitar\, electric guitar\, and cajone (a wooden percussion instrument). They cover songs in folk\, bluegrass\, country\, and southern rock genres. \nGuests can also visit the free Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. Visitors can also enjoy the glowing fire pit (weather permitting).
