DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon Lighthouse Climb on Thursday\, April 6\, 2023 from 8:00-10:00 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the rising moon. \nAt this month’s Full Moon event\, the Crooked River Lighthouse will have a gifted musical group\, The Bog Lilies. The Bog Lilies are a talented group of performers who focus on vocal harmonies mixed a unique blend of instruments including banjo\, mandolin\, acoustic guitar\, electric guitar\, and cajone (a wood percussion instrument). They cover songs in folk\, bluegrass\, country\, and southern rock genres. \nGuests can also visit the Keeper’s House Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. Visitors can also enjoy the glowing fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. All climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. Advance reservations are required for those who wish to climb the lighthouse tower during this event by calling the Lighthouse gift shop. \nA limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. Guests who would like a more leisurely climbing experience are welcome to enjoy one of the daytime climbs available every Wednesday through Sunday. Then\, in the evening\, the festivities continue with a special benefit concert Full Moon event with live music\, full moon climbs\, and a local food vendor under the stars. The Crooked River Lighthouse Museum and Tower will be open to visitors from 9 am-9 pm. \nThe morning starts off with the extended Country Market from 9 am-3 pm\, which has been expanded to include food vendors\, regional arts and crafts vendors\, and live music. Visitors can shop with wonderful vendors selling gifts and goodies\, like freshly roasted coffee\, delicious baked goods\, farm fresh produce\, grass-fed beef\, local art and photography\, handcrafted balms\, and soaps\, as well as enjoy demonstrators and exhibitors. Admission to the park for the Country Market is free to the public (9 am to 3 pm). Also returning to the ‘under construction’ dock stage\, the beloved Tallahassee Community College (TCC) dancers\, frequently featured entertainment at Lantern Fest. This special evening event will feature a local food vendor\, a bonfire\, full moon climbs\, and after-hours visits to the Keeper’s House Museum. Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. \nClear skies permitting and with the glow of a rising moon\, evening tower climbers may spot Carrabelle Beach\, Dog Island\, and moonlight sparkles of St. George Sound. DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon Lighthouse Climb on Friday\, January 6\, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the rising Wolf Moon. If the night skies are clear enough\, guest might be able to spot Dog Island. \nThere will also be fun entertainment with karaoke night. Guests are invited to come share their vocal skills and win fun awards. There will be prizes for best single act\, duo act and group act. In addition\, there will also be an extraordinary one night performance by a very unique Kiss tribute karaoke group solely made up for this special evening and complete with outfits! This is a not-to-be-missed spectacle. \nWhile at Carrabelle’s lighthouse\, guests can enjoy a visit inside the Keeper’s House Museum and browse some unique nautical gifts and souvenirs in the gift shop. Visitors can also enjoy the glowing fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening.  \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Cost is $10 for adults and $3 for kids. All climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. Advance reservations are required for those who wish to climb the lighthouse tower during this event by calling the Lighthouse gift shop.  \nA limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. Guests who would like a more leisurely climbing experience are welcome to enjoy one of the daytime climbs available every Wednesday through Sunday. Masks are welcome but not required.

This unique\, outdoor festival\, best known for its awesome display of over a hundred colorful\, hanging lanterns\, lights up the night with magic and history at the 1895 maritime landmark. Special activities include amazing music by The Bottom Dollar Boys\, the spectacular “glow-in-the-dark” performance from the Tallahassee Community College Dance Company\, special evening tower climbs\, ancient craft demonstrations\, enchanting glowing lantern display\, museum displays\, gift shop\, and delicious food and desserts. Don’t miss this evening of music\, dance\, night tower climbs\, glowing lanterns and yummy food. Tickets will be on sale soon. \nFeatured on the program will be a remarkably gifted and entertaining musical group\, The Bottom Dollar Boys. This group has been delighting audiences for over 40 years\, with traditional Bluegrass harmonies and mighty fine pickin’. They’ve been toilin’ in the fields of Bluegrass\, Old Country\, Gospel\, Americana with a pinch of Blues. \nIn addition\, the talented Tallahassee Community College Dance Company will dazzle guests on the outdoor stage with their superb choreography\, amazing talent and imaginative use of glow-in-the-dark props and illusions. The TCC Dance Company has been inspiring creative dancers for over 20 years years and the college has an admirable outreach program which enables these students to perform for audiences all over the state. Crooked River Lighthouse is honored that these excellent dancers will be performing at Lantern Fest again this year.

DESCRIPTION:The event has been canceled due to expected inclement weather. \nThe Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon Lighthouse Climb and Sacred Drum Ceremony on Saturday\, September 10\, from 8-10 pm in Carrabelle\, Florida.  Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the full Harvest Moon or Corn Moon.  Paul Eagleheart from the Lipan Apache Tribe will be conducting a Native American drum ceremony during the event. Guests can also enjoy the fire pit (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. \nIn honor of the Harvest or Corn Moon\, the lighthouse will be hosting an informal drumming circle during this event. Anyone that has a drum is welcome to bring it and join in. The Harvest Moon is the full moon nearest the start of fall or the autumnal equinox. This full moon name is attributed to Native Americans because it marked when corn and other crops were harvested. \nIn addition to the informal drum circle\, Paul Eagleheart from the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas will be joining this event. He will be doing a sacred\, Native American drum ceremony in honor of the full moon. Paul Eagleheart has done many ceremonies for causes including protection of sacred sites. He will begin the ceremony with a prayer song and will be explaining several Native American traditions. \nWhile at the lighthouse\, guests can also visit the free Keeper’s House Museum and browse inside the Lighthouse Gift Shop for unique nautical gifts and souvenirs. \nThe climb to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse rewards bold climbers with breathtaking views of the bay. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. All climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. Advance reservations are required for those who wish to climb the lighthouse tower during this event by calling the gift shop. \nA limited number of climbers (max of 7) are allowed at one time. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. Guests who would like a more leisurely climbing experience are welcome to enjoy one of the daytime climbs available every Wednesday through Sunday.
