Come join us in celebrating all the fun of Mardi Gras with dogs! \nThe festivities will start at 11:00 am at Riverfront Park with live entertainment\, local food vendors\, and a variety of arts and craft vendors to enjoy while strolling through the park. The parade of costumed dogs and their people\, decorated golf carts\, and boats begins at 1:00. \nThe King and Queen of Apalachicola’s Mardi Gras parade are always sheltered animals who are ready for a forever home. Enter your best recipe and be a contestant in the oyster cook-off or just come out and enjoy a day of wonderful food\, refreshments and music. Well-mannered pets are welcomed on a leash. All proceeds benefit the Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Department.

SUMMARY:Blessing of the Fleet
DESCRIPTION:Even though the 2020 Seafood Festival has been postponed\, there will still be the Blessing of the Fleet\, one of the most colorful events of the festival.  The event will be at Riverfront Park on Friday\, November 6th\, at 4 pm. Several clergymen will bless the parade of passing fishing\, shrimping\, and Charter Fishing vessels\, as well as the recreational vessels from across the county. Any boat wanting to participate in the parade of boats will proceed from the north\, starting at 4 pm near Scipio Creek toward the Bridge. The Blessing will occur in the middle of Riverfront Park. We encourage all who would like to have their boats blessed to participate.

DESCRIPTION:Apalachicola Main Street presents Apalachicola’s Independence Eve Celebration on Labor Day at Riverfront Park starting at 5 p.m. The event features live music\, food trucks\, a parade\, ice cream social\, veterans’ tribute\, a performance of the National Anthem\, and the best fireworks show on the Forgotten Coast. This Apalachicola tradition welcomes golf carts\, people on bicycles\, and even dogs to get decked out in patriotic colors and join in. Free ice cream brings everyone together at Riverfront Park at the end of the parade. The fireworks are launched from a barge in the river\, creating a spectacular display of lights over the water.
