SUMMARY:First Friday Art Event at Rio Carrabelle Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Rio Carrabelle Gallery is hosting another one of their popular First Friday art events on Friday\, January 5th from 5:00-8:00 pm at Rio Carrabelle Gallery in downtown Carrabelle. This laid-back\, fun First Friday will feature music\, food and fun. Guests can enjoy the gorgeous photography\, paintings and art of some gifted\, local artists while enjoying the sounds of some fabulous\, live music along with lively conversation with talented artists and friendly folks. The art of phenomenal photographer\, Bo May\, will continue to be on display as the featured exhibit entitled MOON JAZZ. Bo invites guests to witness this visual voyage at the Rio Carrabelle Gallery\, where MOON JAZZ transcends the boundaries of time and space\, resonating with the eternal cadence of celestial harmony. Guests will also enjoy the outstanding original art of Pat Moore\, Barb Ryan\, Roger Leonard\, William Owen\, and Joe Kotzman. \nMOON JAZZ is an artistic testament to celestial rhythms\, capturing the ethereal dance of time\, light\, and lunar majesty. The images harmonize with the Major Lunar Standstill—a rare event initiating an 18-year cycle of lunar ascent and retreat\, akin to the ebb and flow of musical notes. \nBo May orchestrated this cosmic jam session with extended time exposures\, diverse shutter speeds\, and camera movements\, akin to a jazz musician experimenting with tempos and rhythms. The MOON JAZZ series was composed at McKissack Beach in Carrabelle. A narrative unfolds through the lens\, revealing a progression from “expressionistic” spontaneity to intentional control.

SUMMARY:First Friday Art Event at Rio Carrabelle Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Rio Carrabelle Gallery is hosting another one of their popular First Friday art events on Friday\, December 1st from 5:00-8:00 pm at Rio Carrabelle Gallery in downtown Carrabelle. This laid-back\, fun First Friday will feature real local art\, live music\, friendly folks\, talented artists\, and refreshments. Guests can enjoy the gorgeous photography\, paintings and art of some gifted\, local artists while enjoying the sounds of some fabulous\, live music along with lively conversation. As part of this month’s First Friday\, Rio will be celebrating the opening for a new exhibit featuring phenomenal artist and photographer\, Bo May\, with the exhibit\, MOON JAZZ. This occurrence presents a distinctive chance to document a celestial cycle and become intertwined with the rhythm of the universe. Composed on December 14\, 2005\, at McKissack Beach in Carrabelle\, FL\, the Moon Jazz images are a chronicle of a celestial ballet. \nEmploying extended time exposures and diverse shutter speeds\, often with nuanced camera movements\, the Moon Jazz series captures the essence of that luminous night. A narrative unfolds through the lens\, revealing a progression from “expressionistic” spontaneity to intentional control. Bo May orchestrated this cosmic jam session with extended time exposures\, diverse shutter speeds\, and camera movements\, akin to a jazz musician experimenting with tempos and rhythms. Noteworthy among the compositions is “Fibonacci Pirouettes\,” intricate moon spirals that defy the constraints of the night sky. \nThe exploration of light\, motion\, and improvisation is an ongoing odyssey for Bo May. Bo invites guests to witness this visual voyage at the Rio Carrabelle Gallery\, where Moon Jazz transcends the boundaries of time and space\, resonating with the eternal cadence of celestial harmony. Rio Carrabelle Art Gallery is located at 102 St. James Avenue (US Hwy 98)\, Carrabelle\, Florida and is open Thursdays thru Saturdays 10 am – 3 pm. Rio Carrabelle is a unique art and music destination located in beautiful Carrabelle. Visit www.riocarrabelle.com for more information or on Facebook\, The Gallery at Rio Carrabelle.

SUMMARY:Art Exhibition for Talented Painter\, Cal Allen
DESCRIPTION:The Gallery at Rio Carrabelle is thrilled to present an art exhibition featuring the work of talented painter\, Cal Allen in the historic art venue\, Rio Carrabelle in Carrabelle\, Florida. These beautiful works of art are on display now and the exhibition will run through the end of November. \nCal has expressed his southern heritage through his art for over 60 years. His attention to the details of the coast and his love of nature co-mingle to produce his naturalistic approach. From the lighthouses of North Carolina’s outer banks\, the marshes of coastal Georgia\, and the mudflats of Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast comes the inspiration for much of Cal’s work. \nCal is proficient in oils and watercolors but prefers working in egg tempera. He processes many pigments from local sources. Although primarily self-taught\, Cal has studied the works of the great masters as well as more contemporary artists such as Eakins\, Homer and Wyeth. Inspired by these renowned artists\, he has created his own methods to share his unique view of the world. Cal has received numerous awards and recognitions\, and his works hang in both private and corporate collections throughout this country and England. Cal also enjoys sharing his craft and vision and has taught classes in watercolor\, oil\, acrylic\, and egg tempera in Carrabelle\, Florida. \nRio Carrabelle Art Gallery is open Thursdays- Saturdays from 10 am -3 pm at 102 St. James Avenue (US Hwy 98)\, Carrabelle\, Florida. Rio Carrabelle is a unique art and music destination located in beautiful downtown Carrabelle and features the artwork of local artists William Owen\, Pat Moore\, Barb Ryan\, Roger Leonard\, Bo May as well as Joe Kotzman. SUMMARY:Art Exhibition for talented artist\, Cyndi Thau
DESCRIPTION:The Gallery at Rio Carrabelle is excited to present a delightful art exhibition featuring the art of the talented Cyndi Thau in the historic art venue\, Rio Carrabelle in Carrabelle\, Florida. Cyndi’s art has been called colorful\, inspiring\, and welcoming. Color\, form and light are the ingredients of these paintings. This beautiful art is on display now and the exhibition will run through the end of August. \nCyndi Thau has always wanted to keep art as a central focus of her life. She completed studies at Arizona State University. Her personal creations have included murals\, mosaics\, bead work and painting\, especially oil painting with a glazing technique\, becoming an instructor of this method. “I am fascinated by the forms\, colors\, depth and play of light and shadow that interact in the painting. I use thin layer upon layer of oil paint to achieve the translucency that I associate with all the things in nature.” \nIn recent years Cyndi studied the Plein Air style\, painting from direct observation. Water\, in specific the creek and ocean\, are her favorite subjects. “I love translating the movement of water onto canvas. Always flowing\, never still\, the reflection of light on and through water are both a challenge and a delight to capture”. \nCyndi resides along Florida’s Forgotten Coast where she walks the gulf coast beaches to collect shells that she uses for centerpieces in her bead work\, and continues to paint the water she so loves. Dividing her time between the studio glazing technique and painting outdoors en plein air Cyndi continues to create oil paintings with the depth and translucency she is known for. \nRio Carrabelle Art Gallery is open for new Summer Hours on Thursday-Saturdays from 10 am -3 pm at 102 St. James Avenue (US Hwy 98)\, Carrabelle\, Florida.
