SUMMARY:INConcert Series: Steven Mattingly Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Guitarist Stephen Mattingly has been warmly received by audiences in Europe\, Africa\, and the Americas as soloist and founding member of the Tantalus Quartet. Stephen’s solo performances have taken him from venues such as Weill Hall to major festivals across the US and abroad. An avid chamber music collaborator\, he received the prestigious Theodore Presser Award for his work on the complete guitar chamber works by Franz Schubert. \nStephen enjoys a vibrant career as Associate Professor of Guitar at the Florida State University where he nurtures the guitar legacy established by Bruce Holzman. During his 17-year tenure as Professor of Guitar at the University of Louisville\, Stephen was recognized as a distinguished professor for creative activity. He has adjudicated\, taught\, and performed at the Silesian Guitar Autumn Competition in Poland\, the Guitar Foundation of America Convention\, the Iserlohn Guitar Symposium in Germany\, and the Acadia Guitar Festival in Canada. Additionally\, Stephen is chair of the Guitar Foundation of America Board of Trustees. \nHis students have won top-prizes in competitions and graduate awards at revered programs. Graduates hold high school and collegiate teaching positions\, and serve the GFA\, the Sphinx organization\, Louisville Guitar Society\, and Cleveland Guitar Society. \nStephen earned a Doctorate of Music and Theory Pedagogy certificate at FSU as a teaching assistant to renowned pedagogue Bruce Holzman. He received an Artist Diploma with Dale Kavanagh at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany and studied with Oscar Ghiglia at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena\, Italy. Prior studies with Nicholas Goluses at the Eastman School of Music led to Master’s and Bachelor Degrees\, a Certificate in Arts Leadership\, and a Performer’s Certificate. \nStephen Mattingly is a D’Addario artist and his recordings are available on all streaming platforms.

DESCRIPTION:Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum and American Legion Post 82 have joined forces to host the Annual Dice Run on Saturday\, March 13\, 2026 from 12:00-4:30 pm in Carrabelle\, FL as part of the 30th Annual Camp Gordon Johnston Day. The Dice Run will take place immediately following the Camp Gordon Johnston Veterans Parade and is a much-needed fundraiser to support the missions of both Camp Gordon Johnston Museum and American Legion Post 82. The funds raised are used to share the stories of those who served at Camp Gordon Johnston and in WWII and to honor all our military veterans. \nParticipants will enjoy a leisurely ride or drive along the Forgotten Coast on scenic US Highway 98\, stopping at several fun locations to roll dice at each. At the end of the day\, those with the highest and the lowest combined dice rolls will win prizes. All types of vehicles are welcome. If it’s legal to operate on a Florida highway\, it can be entered. Bikers\, riders\, car clubs\, Jeepers\, veteran supporters\, social organizations and anyone looking for a day of fun and friendly competition are encouraged to join. \nThe Dice Run will kick-off at the first stop\, Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum\, in Carrabelle\, FL. There will be stops throughout the county with the run concluding by 4:30 pm at the American Legion Post 82 in Lanark\, FL. The final stop party will be a great time with dinner\, live music by Ashley Morgan Music and of course\, winner prizes\, door prizes\, and a 50/50 raffle. \nRegistration for the Dice Run is available now online. Tickets for the Dice Run with meal are available for $25 per person which includes the ride\, one dice run score card\, a door prize ticket\, dinner and live music. Day of registration will also be available starting at 11:30 am on-site at Camp Gordon Johnston Museum\, 1873 US Hwy 98 W\, Carrabelle\, FL. Extra score cards\, meals\, and more are also available for purchase online. \nGuests are urged to come to Carrabelle early to enjoy the Veterans Parade. The parade\, which honors military veterans and active duty military\, will start at 10:45 am along US Hwy 98 in downtown Carrabelle. Visitors are also welcome to visit the museum from 11 am-5 pm to learn the stories of the region’s WWII heroes. Participants are encouraged to stay for the weekend (or the week) and enjoy a variety of community activities\, attractions\, and restaurants.
