SUMMARY:Panhandle Players present Lend Me A Tenor
DESCRIPTION:Winner of 3 Tony Awards and 4 Drama Desk Awards\, Lend Me A Tenor is set in September 1934. Saunders\, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company\, is primed to welcome world-famous singer Tito Merelli\, known as Il Stupendo\, the greatest tenor of his generation\, to appear for one night only as the star of the opera. Tito arrives late\, and through a hilarious series of mishaps\, he is given a double dose of tranquilizers and passes out. His pulse is so low that Saunders and his assistant Max believe he’s dead – and in a frantic attempt to salvage the evening\, Saunders persuades Max to get into Merelli’s costume and fool the audience into thinking he’s Il Stupendo. Max succeeds and lives up to his idol\, but Merelli regains consciousness and gets into the identical costume\, ready to perform. Now two opera singers are running around in the same costume and two women are running around in lingerie\, each thinking she is with Il Stupendo. A sensation on Broadway and in London’s West End\, this madcap\, screwball comedy is guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter.

SUMMARY:FSU Coastal and Marine Lab's Open House
DESCRIPTION:FSUCML’s Open House highlights the importance of improving human awareness of the tight linkages between healthy ecosystems and healthy societies. Think of our local habitats — seagrass meadows\, oyster reefs\, saltmarshes\, and other wetlands that protect their inhabitants\, retain sediments and dampen storm surges\, filter the air and water of pollutants\, and fix carbon\, thereby helping to curtail carbon dioxide buildup in the atmosphere while capturing nutrients for plant growth. \nOur Open House celebrates FSU’s scientists and their graduate students by providing an opportunity to showcase scientific knowledge of the land and sea. Research labs\, public agencies\, and community organizations will present their work\, and great food will be available from local food trucks. \nGather your friends\, family\, neighbors\, and colleagues\, and take a beautiful drive down to the coast for a FREE day of fun! From tiny tots to the most mature adults and those of us who never quite grew up — there will be something to educate\, fascinate\, and entertain everyone! Can’t wait to see you again!

SUMMARY:Full Moon Event at Crooked River Lighthouse
DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon Lighthouse Event on Tuesday\, April 23\, from 7:00-9:00 pm in Carrabelle\, FL. Visitors can enjoy the gorgeous natural surroundings of St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the glow of the rising Pink Moon and evening sky. \nApril’s full moon is traditionally known as the Pink Moon\, and it heralds the arrival of spring. It is called the Pink Moon because it often aligns with the blossoming of a particular wildflower indigenous to the eastern regions of North America—the Phlox subulata. This early spring bloom\, commonly known as creeping phlox or moss phlox\, also bears the charming name “moss pink.” \nVisitors can enjoy an after-hours self-guided tour of the Keeper’s House Museum and see the exhibit for the lighthouse’s original\, historic Fresnel lens constructed in 1894 in Paris\, France. Guests can browse the unique nautical gifts and souvenirs in the gift shop. Visitors may also enjoy the glowing bonfire in the park (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening. \nFor those brave souls who are bold enough to venture to the top of the tallest lighthouse on the Forgotten Coast\, evening tower climbs are scheduled at 15-minute intervals throughout the event. Climbers will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the bay. Evening climbs cost $10 and climb reservations are encouraged due to limited availability. Climbers must be at least 44 inches tall and children under 12 (FREE) with ticketed adults. Advance tickets are strongly suggested as slots may sell out and can be purchased online or in the lighthouse gift shop.
