DESCRIPTION:The Crooked River Lighthouse will host their Country Farmers Market on Saturday\, June 21\, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm ET at the foot of Carrabelle’s historic lighthouse\, followed by a Smartphone Photography Class at 1:00 pm. This outdoor market is the perfect opportunity to shop small and shop local for a variety of unique goods while supporting area vendors\, artists\, bakers\, artisans and crafters. The lighthouse is located at 1975 Hwy 98 West\, Carrabelle\, FL. \nThe Country Market features an ever changing variety of locally sourced and handcrafted items. Shoppers may find organic farm-fresh produce\, artisan breads\, delicious cinnamon rolls\, grass-fed beef\, handmade totes\, assorted jellies\, stunning art and decor\, fresh eggs\, batch-roasted coffee\, locally handcrafted jewelry\, balms and sprays\, unique t-shirts\, hot sauces\, salsa\, plants and more. \nImmediately following the Market\, a Smartphone Photography Class will be offered by Dave Stahler\, a regular vendor at the Country Market. Dave has been a commercial and industrial photographer for over 40 years. He will share tips and tricks to get the best photos on a smartphone and will cover composition and outdoor landscape lighting\, the two main ingredients of good photography with any camera. \nClasses begin June 7 and will be held at Carrabelle’s lighthouse on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at 1:00 pm\, right after the Market. Each class will last about 90 minutes. Cost is $25 per person and includes time in the classroom as well as on location. Attendees will pay at the door. Participants can sign up at www.DavidStahler.com or by emailing David.Stahler@icloud.com. \nWhile at the lighthouse\, guests are invited to explore the free Keeper’s House Museum and Gift Shop\, open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm ET. The museum features fascinating maritime history\, including the lighthouse’s original historic Fresnel lens. The Gift Shop offers handcrafted items\, jewelry\, nautical and coastal art\, souvenirs and keepsakes. For a small fee\, visitors can also climb to the top of the tallest lighthouse on the Forgotten Coast for a breathtaking panoramic view of St. George Sound. \nThe Country Farmer’s Markets are held every 1st\, 3rd and 5th Saturday at the foot of Carrabelle’s lighthouse and are actively recruiting new and returning vendors. SUMMARY:22nd Annual Kingfish Shootout
DESCRIPTION:We are happy to announce the 22nd Annual Kingfish Shootout at C-Quarters Marina on Saturday\, June 14\, 2025. The Captain’s Meeting will take place on Friday\, June 13th at 6:30pm. There will be three categories\, Kingfish\, Spanish Mackerel\, and Red Snapper. \nThe guaranteed payout will be $24\,000! You can win $5\,000 for the biggest Kingfish\, $2\,000 for the biggest Spanish Mackerel\, and $5\,000 for the biggest Red Snapper. Teams can enter one fish in EACH category. Team registration fee is $250 per boat. After June 2nd\, the entry fee will be $300 per boat. Any donation of $1\,250 or more will receive a free boat entry. \nWe will also offer Calcutta division\, Target weight\, Youth Angler (16 & under)\, and Lady Angler\, with more details at the captains meeting. Youth and Lady Angler must catch their fish unassisted and be entered as youth/lady angler on the team registration. \nWith continuing thoughts of Lisa Crowder Jackson and Mr. Jimmie Crowder\, we are excited about the potential positive impact this event is going to have not only for the Leukemia Research Foundation\, but the City of Carrabelle and Franklin County as a whole. \nThank you to all our previous sponsors and anglers\, with your help we have donated over $1.5 million dollars to the Leukemia Research Foundation. DESCRIPTION:Join us for local ghost stories\, area legends\, and tales of hauntings in downtown Apalachicola while using ghost-hunting equipment to seek out any lingering spirits. Select tour goers and volunteers will get to use EMF detectors\, and other ghost-hunting equipment at select locations on the tour. Bring your positive energy and let’s try to say “hello” to the ghosts of Apalachicola. The tour will begin in front of the Chamber of Commerce located at 17 Avenue E next to the Dixie Theatre.
